#344 Money to be made

They said there is money to be made

but that’s my home

and the mortgage I will have to my grave

how could I gamble

with my home

there is money to be made

if I am willing to gamble

realising it could go one way or the other

I wish I got on the housing market

as soon as I can

too busy working hard

too busy playing mum and dad

turning my hand to what I can

years securing a safe home

now I gamble

when the bank won’t even give me a loan

so who can I turn to

where can I go

I know people who have done it

the tricks they will not show

this is one journey I have to take  on my own

If I was a millionaire

would I be happy?

or would I live in fear?

expecting to be killed

at every spot

not sure who is my friend

now I have all that I have got

I am not talking a couple

I am talking a few

to the point of so much money

I wouldn’t know what to do

after I have done all I can

I guess I will just become a recluse

it seems to be the prospects

of what the very rich do

What happens at the Oscar’s

is a disgrace

we wait and wait patiently

to be acknowledged in this race

we can create a great movie

get best director

but our actors

they will not make a fuss

I remember the year

when Denzel got his globe

he played a cop gone wrong

strung out on drugs

these are the roles

that the oscar’s love

that same year

the unbelievable occurred

they gave the oscar

to Halle Berry

An acting Black Girl

Now as I understand

it was full of sleazy scenes

and lust

so now we know what to do

to create an oscar buzz

Everyone is gambling now a days

The temptation is everywhere, everyone is at it and everyone should do it.

#355 Gambling all the time

It’s all around

you can’t run and you can’t hide

it’s everywhere

it’s on our phone on our computers

it follows us inside

which means it must be fine to do

something for nothing

we know this is n’t true

yet we take the bait

when we know we really should n’t do

what will you put up?

everything you’ve got

with the chance of getting richer

we have completely lost the plot

I don't like being threatened at work

I spent nearly six years working in an a very difficult environment.  I enjoyed my job just didn't enjoy the politics.  I didn't play the game, I didn't understand the rules and I was unaware of the goals but I was aware of the pitfalls and there were many of those.  It would seem smiling every day and just trying to get on with it after a while wears you thin.

you disrupt my life

throw me off track

I want to move on

I know there is no going back

so much has been said

so much has been done

so hard to forgive

cannot trust anyone

when I needed support

no one was there

I had to do it on my own

so now everything is clear

this inner strength

is all that I have

it is the thing that has stayed with me

through thick and thin

when I have felt desperate

isolated

feeling all alone

I have kept on going

too far away from home

nothing familiar

nothing I can recall

I have been there for myself

I have remained tall
